Harlan L. South, M.D., F.A.C.P.
Harlan L. South, M.D., F.A.C.P., an experienced physician and former Lieutenant Colonel in the US Army,
is a native of Richmond Virginia. After graduating Magna Cum Laude in Biochemistry and Chemistry from NC State in 1990
and obtaining his medical degree from the Medical College of Virginia in 1996, he completed his internship and residency at MCV.
He was board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in 2002
and named as a Fellow of the American College of Physicians in 2005. His military service included a yearlong tour in Ramadi, Iraq as a Battalion Surgeon.
While continuing to fulfill his military obligations, Dr. South was a practicing internist in Georgia for 10 years prior to joining
our practice in May 2009. He and his wife, Kadie Tabassian, a practicing dentist in Buckhead, have one daughter. Dr. South enjoys reading, exercising, and traveling.
